247kW to 314kW. 503Nm to 606Nm. This is what a Harrop TVS2300 supercharger does to a Y62 Patrol.
The Y62 is already one of the most capable V8 4WDs ever sold in Australia — the last of a breed. But stock, there’s headroom the factory left on the table. This week we took one in, fitted a Harrop TVS2300 supercharger, and finished it with a full custom tune from Mitch on our in-house dyno.
Why supercharge a Y62?
The Y62’s 5.6L VK56VD V8 is a strong naturally aspirated engine, but a basic tune alone won’t move the needle significantly. The Harrop supercharger is the modification that genuinely transforms the platform — not just in peak power figures, but in how the car feels to drive.
The TVS2300 is a positive displacement supercharger, which means boost builds immediately from low RPM. On a heavy 4WD that’s towing a van or a horse float, that low-end torque is the difference you feel every time you put your foot down. The torque peak on this build hit at just 3,172 RPM — exactly where you need it in the real world.

The kit
The Harrop TVS2300 is built to OE standards using Eaton TVS supercharger technology, engineered specifically for the Y62 Patrol platform. The front drive / front inlet design keeps the install clean and retains all factory accessories. Every install at Power Torque is completed with a custom tune written in-house by Mitch — not an off-the-shelf file.
